What is BNYS Course?

BNYS is a 5.5-year undergraduate professional medical degree recognised by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. It is one of six recognised medical systems in India alongside MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS. Naturopathy is a drug-free healing system that uses water, mud, diet, fasting, sunlight, massage, and yoga to activate the body’s natural healing capacity. At the BNYS level, these therapies are studied scientifically  combined with Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacognosy, and Clinical Medicine, producing graduates who are both naturopathic practitioners and biomedically grounded doctors. Graduates register with the State AYUSH Council and can legally practise, prescribe naturopathic therapies, and operate a naturopathy clinic or wellness centre across India.

BNYS Admission 2026

BNYS full form is Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, BNYS graduates are licensed naturopathy and yoga medicine practitioners. They can open their own clinic, work in AYUSH wellness centres, join hospitals, practice yoga therapy, or pursue MD Naturopathy and research. India’s AYUSH sector is expanding rapidly, and government AYUSH wellness centres are being built at PHCs and CHCs across all states under the National AYUSH Mission. Why Choose BNYS Admission From MIT University Sikkim?

Reason Details
No NEET. No Entrance Test. Class 12 PCB marks are the only requirement. The most accessible route to a government-recognised AYUSH medical degree in India.
Ministry of AYUSH Recognised Degree BNYS from MIT Sikkim is AYUSH-recognised. Graduate, register with State AYUSH Council, and practise legally across India.
NAAC Accredited University Academic quality credential recognised by employers, government bodies, and international organisations.
Himalayan Natural Healing Environment Studying naturopathy in the Himalayas is not a tagline — it is a genuine advantage. Clean air, natural water sources, Himalayan medicinal flora, and proximity to traditional healing practices enrich clinical training.
Clinical Training from Year 1 OPD postings begin in Year 3. Practical therapy sessions from Year 2. 12-month rotational internship at the end. Graduates are clinically competent — not just theoretically trained.
Northeast India AYUSH Expansion National AYUSH Mission is one of the most actively expanding government health initiatives in Northeast India. MIT Sikkim graduates have geographic and contextual advantage for AYUSH government postings in Sikkim and all NE states.
Research in Himalayan Natural Medicine Traditional Himalayan medicinal plants, high-altitude physiology, indigenous healing practices — unique research opportunities not available from any metro campus.
Affordable Living Costs Sikkim costs significantly less than Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, or Mumbai — meaningful for a 5.5-year programme.
